RAHUL DRAVID: THE TEACHER || ENGLISH LESSON ON READING COMPREHENSION

RAHUL DRAVID: THE TEACHER

If there was ever a pure grammarian with the cricket bat on the field, it was Mr. Rahul Dravid.

Mr. Rahul Dravid
Although he produced several sterling  performances for the Indian team, he rarely fell prey to complacency. To put it simply, Mr. Dravid showcased some of the  most admirable qualities that one can possess. We surely can take a leaf out of his book. He is retired now. Still, he is as self-effacing as he was during his playing days.

Even in post-retirement, he makes sure that his expertise in cricket serves the budding cricketers of our country. As the coach of India's under-19 and 'A' teams, he instills in his students the same resilience he exhibited each and every time he batted against formidable opponents. Among his mentees, Mayank Agarwal, Hanuma Vihari, Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill have  embarked upon a new phase in their lives. While Gill has been selected for the ongoing New Zealand tour, the other three have already played for India. The most promising part of their introduction to the big arena was that they did not look intimidated by the transition from domestic to international cricket. Just like their teacher, they have learnt to hone their skills to get into the national side. Gill would follow suit soon.

We will surely relive Dravid's prowess on the cricket pitch every time one of his pupils takes the center stage.
