Acquiesce
It's a verb. It means "to agree to something without protest or to accept something unwillingly".
For example,
a. She acquiesced in my suggestion even though she didn't like it.
b. Reluctantly, he acquiesced in/to the proposal.
c. He acquiesced in her decision.
d. She acquiesced to the request.
e. People silently acquiesced to the new policies.
f. I do not want to acquiesce to values I do not hold.
I think it's pretty obvious from the preceding examples that we are supposed to use ACQUIESCE in formal situations.
Let's have a look at its synonyms.
agree to, consent to, allow, accept, concur with, say yes to, give one's approval to, permit
