Admonish
If you admonish someone for doing something, you tell him/her that he/she has done something wrong.
If you admonish someone to do something, you advise or urge him/her to do it.

A. Admonish + someone + for + verb (-ing) = you tell someone that s/he has done something wrong

B. Admonish + someone + (to infinitive) = you advise or urge someone to do something
Synonyms: urge, advise, encourage, counsel, recommend,
