Akin
It's an adjective. It means "closely connected with or of similar character".
Remember... AKIN is followed by the preposition, "to".
For example,
a. Genius is sometimes akin to madness.
b. They speak a language akin to Spanish.
c. When he saw her father, something akin to anger and hatred overwhelmed him.
d. Snakes and Ladders may be just a game. However, if you give it some thought, you will find it is akin to the way we lead our lives.
