I STARTED DRAWING THOUGHTS ON PAPER

I STARTED DRAWING THOUGHTS ON PAPER

In a desperate attempt

To tame my stars,

I ignored the gore,

And forgot the scars.

Left for the world a world away;
Felt the night, and felt the day.

Not everything was in vain;

I loved love; I felt pain;
Even when the clouds were unseen,
There was thunder, there was rain.

I started drawing thoughts on paper;
I went past clauses huge in number.
Lost in a world of words ‘n phrases,
Rarely did I air my grievances.

I'd started out with a lonely line;
I added another; it still looked fine;

Slowly, surely, it found a rhythm;
In a blink of an eye, it became a poem.
