RELIEF
A loud clap of thunder
Broke the silence of the night;
And then a flash of lightning
Fell from a great height.
Like minstrels from distant lands,
The light didn't want to stay for long.
Once it became dark again
The clouds wrote their next song.
Again the lightning flashed
And distant thunder rolled;
Suddenly a night of sweet dreams
Offered restless sleep to young and old.
But when they heard the drip of the rain
It soon put them at ease.
The clouds that were once merciless
Were now very eager to please.
